Finally, after many years of negotiating and evaluating and following procedures, the Miniature American Shepherd is now a recognised breed of KUSA. Look out for them in the breed ring soon!

Rouge gave birth to her first litter of puppies on the 16th of July. The litter was sired by Nitro. After waiting so long for this littter we definately werent dissapointed. They are a stunning!!!! See our puppy pages for more information. These puppies are all reserved.
Our newest addtion to the KingCrest family has arrived. X-Treme Cherry Bomb at Real Pearl is a perfect little red merle border collie. Only the second to ever set foot on South African soil. She is imported all the way from Hungary and comes to us from the renowned kennel of Real Pearl Border Collies. She is a super little girl and we are planning great things for her. Take a look at her individual page for more information.
Our first litter of the year has arrived. Born to Sk-I and Nitro were 9 puppies, 3 blue merles and 6 black tri's. We have just two little girls and 7 boys! We are very excited to see how they grow and mature and cant wait for those eyes to start opening as we are hoping for some blue eyes. Here is a little taster - individual pics still to come.
Today i received D-Or registration certificate into MASCUSA (Miniature American Shepherd Club of USA) which is the parent body for the breed now newly accepted into the AKC( American Kennel Club). So D-Or is now allegable for registration into the AKC which we will be sending in for this week. I am hoping to continue the process until all of my "Mini Aussies" are registered this way under the new name for the breed Miniature American Shepherds and hoping that this will allow us to push for registration with South Africa's own registration body KUSA for recogniton of the breed. This is a huge step in the right direction.
It seems that Rouge's breeding was unsucessfull so as Sk-I has just come into season I have decided to breed her to Nitro.
Lets hope that this time the outcome will be little fluffy bundles in a couple of weeks ... King went off to Knysna with Rozanne to handle him. His flyball team did really well winning all the trials over the weekend and so the overall National team title for 2011 as well. I heard he had fun in agility too ;)
Rouge has just come into season and we are hoping for a successfull breeding between her and Nitro.
Only time will tell but will keep everybody updated. Exciting times ahead :) King has once again been selected to represent the Western Province A side at the Flyball Nationals to be held in Bloemfontein later this year.
I was very happy with his times as his fastest run was only 0.2 seconds off his best time ever. His average time over 6 runs was 4.09 seconds (had one bad run of 4.26s as he fumbled). All this after barely training flyball this year and being in a very unfit state due to me being forced into taking a break for a few months until the arrival of our baby girl. Go King. Very proud of you. We are now making plans for him to travel to Bloem King was awarded his SAFDA Flyball Dog Title as well as his SAFDA Flyball Dog Excellent Title at the past weekend EP regional trials.
Nilla was awarded her SAFDA Flyball Dog Title also. |
